Grant announcement: StoryFutures (May 2021)
Szonya Durant has been awarded two research funding awards from StoryFutures:

  • Partnered with Spilt Milk Studios: Testing the use of depth of field to affect user attention in real-time 3D
  • Partnered with Typeone: Attention guidance in an interactive cinematic format using particles

Mini-symposium on Empirical Aesthetics (February 2020)
The Perception-Action-Decision Making (PAD) Group is hosting two speakers (Edward Vessel from the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics and Jasmina Stevanov from the University of Bristol) along with four internal speakers highlighting some of the VR-related work taking place at Royal Holloway, on 26th February 2020.

Virtual reality lab launch (May 2019)
The opening of the new interdisciplinary virtual reality lab is taking place on 21st June 2019. The event sees talks from psychologists working in this area with live demonstrations in eye-tracking and VR.
